I'm putting the number on the post because I hated finding photographers whose pricing was hidden behind a phone call. The session is $185. That covers me coming to you, the time it takes to get your pet comfortable, and a hand-edited gallery two weeks later. From there, most people build something they'll actually live with, wall art or a photo album, and prints start at $150 if you want to add a few or hand them out as gifts. Everything is priced on my website, so you'll know before you decide a single thing. No mystery, no upsell ambush. If that's the kind of experience you've been looking for, message me your pet's name and we'll find a date.

People are always a little thrown when I show up to a session and don't take a single picture for the first ten minutes. It looks like I'm stalling. What's actually happening is that your pet is deciding whether I'm a threat, and no photo taken during that decision is worth anything anyway. So I sit down on the floor, I look at my phone, I ignore them completely, and I let them come to me. It works on almost every animal.

Happy International Cat Day to every cat who has made me work for a good photo, which is all of them. Cats don't perform. They don't sit when you ask, they don't look where you point, and they'll leave the second you lift a camera. Simba does all three. And that's exactly why I love photographing them. A dog will give you the photo because you asked. A cat makes you wait for a real moment, the slow blink, the stretch, the one second they forget you're there, and then hands you something you couldn't have posed if you tried. Every good cat photo I've ever taken was the cat's idea, not mine. To the cats: thank you for keeping me humble. To the people who love them: you already know. Tell me about yours below.
